How to Install a Signed IPA
Directly on Your iPhone
Follow these steps to install your signed IPA file straight to your device — no Mac, no Xcode, no jailbreak required.
Installation Steps
5 steps · ~3 minPhase 1 — Sign your app
Upload your IPA
Drag your .ipa file into the upload zone on the Sign IPA page. iSignify auto-detects the app name, bundle ID, and iOS compatibility.
Supports bulk upload — drop multiple files at once.
Sign it
Tap "Sign Now" or "Sign All". Signing takes 6–12 seconds per file using our enterprise certificate — no cert of your own needed.
Green "Signed" badge = ready to download.
Phase 2 — Install on your iPhone
Download the IPA
Tap the Download button. Save the .ipa file to your computer — you'll need it for the sideloading tool in the next step.
File is also saved to your App Library for re-download anytime.
Sideload with a tool
Open Sideloadly (Windows/Mac) or AltStore (iPhone-first) and drag the downloaded .ipa onto your device. The tool handles the rest.
Sideloadly is the easiest option for most users.
Phase 3 — Trust the certificate
Trust the Developer Certificate
Required once per certificate — takes under 30 seconds
Settings
Open the Settings app
General → VPN & Device Management
Scroll down in General
Tap the certificate
Under "Enterprise App"
Tap "Trust" → Confirm
One-time step per certificate
On iOS 14 or earlier, look for "Profiles & Device Management" instead of "VPN & Device Management".
You're all set!
The app is now installed and trusted. Tap its icon on your home screen to launch it.
Troubleshooting
Common issues"Untrusted Developer" error when opening the app
Fix: Go to Settings → General → VPN & Device Management → tap the certificate under "Enterprise App" → tap "Trust". You only need to do this once.
No install prompt appeared after tapping "Install on iPhone"
Fix: Make sure you're tapping the button on the iPhone you want to install on, not a desktop browser. The OTA install link only works in Safari on iOS.
Installation failed or app disappeared after install
Fix: The enterprise certificate may have been temporarily revoked. Re-sign the IPA using iSignify and try installing again — we rotate certificates automatically.
Install stalls at 0% or shows "Cannot Connect to Server"
Fix: Check your internet connection. Large IPA files (100MB+) require a stable Wi-Fi connection. Cellular data may cause timeouts on large downloads.
App opens but crashes immediately
Fix: The IPA may not be compatible with your iOS version. Check the "iOS Compat" badge on the signed file — if it shows iOS 16.0+ and you're on iOS 15, the app won't work.
Frequently Asked Questions
iSignify signs IPA files using an enterprise certificate and does not modify the app binary in any way. The signing process only adds a valid code signature — the app code itself is unchanged. Always ensure you trust the source of the IPA file before uploading.
